〘 noun 〙① A state of idleness without work. ※Meiho Orai (mid-11th century?) Kamisue "The above person was unable to make the waves at dawn, leaving the land fallow for twenty -one days." ② In agriculture, the temporary cessation of crop cultivation and letting the cultivated land rest. This is done to fertilize the soil. Fallow.
