Bellows Festival

Japanese: 鞴祭 - ふいごまつり
Bellows Festival
This is an event held on November 8th of the lunar calendar by blacksmiths, casters, and other people who use bellows. They take a day off work to purify their bellows, hang shimenawa (sacred ropes) on them, and make offerings. In some places, this overlaps with Inari worship, and a fire is also held. In Edo, on this day, tangerines were scattered on the streets and children were allowed to pick them up.
