However, it seems that he directly managed the silver produced in the Kono silver mine in the territory of the Uratomi domain under the control of Kakiya Mitsunari and his son Tsunenori, and it is known that in 1598 (Keicho 3), under the name of Nagahisa (Hyobu Hoin), he sent 9,282 pieces of silver, 3 ryo 6 bu 2 rin, to Hideyoshi in Fushimi (list of treasury contributions in Keicho 3). In place of the Miyabe clan who sided with the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Ikeda Nagayoshi entered the domain from Omi Province and became the lord of Tottori Castle. He held 60,000 koku in four counties, including the three counties from the Miyabe era (excluding Takakusa County) and Kono County, which was formerly the domain of Kakiya Tsunenori of the Western Army, and lived in the castle for about 17 years. During this time, he repaired and maintained the castle tower and castle grounds, and also acquired the port of Karo in Takakusa County, which could be called Tottori's outer port, from Kamei Korenori, the lord of the neighboring Shikano domain, in exchange for Fukurogawara Village in Yakami County, which is said to have contributed to the development of the area around Tottori Castle.

…ただ垣屋光成･恒総父子支配下の浦富藩領の巨濃（この）郡銀山から産出する銀を直接管理したようで，1598年(慶長3)長熙(兵部法印)の名で伏見の秀吉のもとに運上9282枚3両6分2厘を送っている(慶長三年蔵納目録)ことが知られる。　1600年の関ヶ原の戦で西軍に従った宮部氏に代わって，近江国から池田長吉が入部して鳥取城主となり，宮部時代の高草郡を除く3郡と西軍垣屋恒総の跡の巨濃郡を加えて4郡6万石を領し，約17年在城した。その間，天守や城郭の修築･整備を行うとともに，鳥取の外港ともいうべき高草郡賀露の港を八上郡袋河原村と交換に，隣藩の鹿野藩主亀井茲矩（これのり）から譲り受け，鳥取城下の発展をはかったと伝える。…
