[Born] King Sukjong 33 (1707) [Died] King Yeongjo 45 (1769) A painter from the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. His pen name was Heesuk and his pen name was Hyeonjae. He learned painting from Jeong Zen (Tei Zen) from an early age, and studied ancient paintings to eventually establish his own family. He excelled in landscape painting, and his style was strongly influenced by the Southern painting style of the Qing Dynasty of China. He was respected as the Sansai along with his teachers Jeong Zen and Jo Young. His posthumous works include "Plum Trees at the Bridge" and "High Houses on the Mountains of Gyeongsan," both of which are housed in the National Museum of Korea.
