Nakagawa [village] - Nakagawa
A village in Kamiina County in southern Nagano Prefecture. Population 5,514 (1995). It is located in the middle reaches of the Tenryu River and in the center of the Ina Basin. The eastern part is mostly occupied by the Ina Mountains, with little flat land. The western part is occupied by well-developed river terraces on the west bank of the Tenryu River, where rice and livestock are cultivated, as well as the cultivation of fruits such as Nijisseiki pears and vegetables. National Route 153 runs parallel to the Tenryu River, and the JR Iida Line passes through the western end. Mount Jinbagata (1,445m) is located in the north, Lake Koshibu and Lake Koshibu Onsen (simple spring, 16°C) are located in the south, and the town is part of the Tenryu-Koshibu River System Prefectural Natural Park.

長野県南部,上伊那郡の村。人口5514(1995)。天竜川中流域,伊那盆地中央部に位置する。東部は大部分が伊那山地で占められ,平地は少ない。西部は天竜川西岸の発達した河岸段丘が占め,米作,畜産をはじめ,二十世紀梨を中心とした果樹や野菜の栽培が行われる。天竜川に並行して国道153号線が走るほか,西端をJR飯田線が通じる。北部に陣馬形山(1445m),南部に小渋湖,小渋湖温泉(単純泉,16℃)があり,天竜小渋水系県立自然公園に属する。
