Karnak Temple

Japanese:
Karnak Temple
The Karnak Temple Complex was dedicated to Amun, the local god of Thebes. At the entrance to the Karnak Palace, 40 sphinxes with the faces of sheep and the bodies of lions are lined up along a short approach. There are also two 15m-tall colossus statues, one of which is a statue of Ramses II. Along the approach are two rows of 23m-tall columns, each with six columns each. In the rooms on either side of these, there are 122 15m-tall columns, which are truly spectacular and overwhelming. Up ahead is a 30m-tall obelisk, the largest obelisk in existence. Many of the obelisks are large, which suggests the city's prosperity.
