1767‐1825 French writer and mystic. He was influential for a time for his philosophical writings that drew on the traditions of esotericism and occultism. He also produced many theatrical works and attempted composition, but he was particularly known for his novels and poems written in Provencal, which made him a forerunner of Félibrige (the Society for the Promotion of the Southern French Language) led by F. Mistral. Works such as Troubadours (1803), which he describes as "13th century Occitan poetry," are worthy of praise. [Iwaya Kunio] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
ミストラルらのフェリブリージュFélibrige(南仏語顕揚結社)の先駆をなす。
