A manufacturer of automobile tires. Founded in 1944 with investment from Dai Nippon Boseki (now Unitika) and Naigai Rubber, the company initially produced aircraft tires. In 1962, the company changed its name from Otsu Rubber Industries to Otsu Tire. In 1981, the company entered into a full partnership with Sumitomo Rubber Industries, which has since taken over management. The company launched and developed the "Falken" brand. In 1988, the company established a business division specializing in the development of non-tire products, clarifying its intention to diversify. In November 2000, the company carried out a third-party allocation of new shares, which was fully subscribed by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, making it a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries. In 2003, the company was absorbed into Sumitomo Rubber Industries.

自動車タイヤメーカー。1944年，大日本紡績（現ユニチカ）と内外ゴムの出資により設立され，当初は航空機タイヤを生産していた。1962年に大津ゴム工業よりオーツタイヤに改称。1981年に住友ゴム工業と全面提携，以降同社が経営を担当。「ファルケン」ブランドを立ち上げて展開した。1988年に非タイヤ商品を専門に開発する事業本部を設立し，多角化への指向を明確にした。2000年11月第三者割当増資を実施，これを住友ゴム工業がすべて引き受けたことから，住友ゴム工業の子会社となった。2003年住友ゴム工業に吸収合併された。
