Nishina Shinmei Shrine

Japanese: 仁科神明宮 - にしなしんめいぐう
Nishina Shinmei Shrine
This shrine is located in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture. It was founded in the late Heian period by inviting Amaterasu Omikami to protect the Nishina Mikuriya shrine of Ise Jingu. The shrine buildings were rebuilt every year until the early modern period, and the current building was built in 1636. It well preserves the style of the Ise Jingu main hall, and is the oldest remaining Shinmei-zukuri structure, with the main hall designated a national treasure. All 27 ridgepole tablets from rebuildings since 1376 are preserved.
