It is also written as "Kyobun" and is also called "Kyojo" or "Kyojo". It is one of the ancient documents used from the Heian to Muromachi periods, and is a document that proves the renunciation of one's rights. In the text, words such as "Kyowatashi" or "Kyomonsu" are often written to indicate the renunciation of rights (→ Goken). Also, a divorce letter from the Edo period was called a "Kyojo" because it renounced the husband's rights over his wife, and if it was written in three and a half lines, it was also called "Mikudarihan (three lines and a half, three lower halves)".
