Canada's oldest national park, located in southwestern Alberta, Canada. It covers an area of 6,641 square kilometers. It was explored by G. Thompson in 1841. It was established in 1885. It is located on the eastern slope of the Canadian Rockies, with Jasper National Park, Yoho National Park, and Kootenay National Park in succession just to the north. The magnificent scenery of the Canadian Rockies, with mountains, glaciers, and Lake Louise in the foreground, is captivating. The park is home to Field Station and Banff Station of the Trans-Canada Railway, and the Banff-Jasper Highway was completed in 1940. It is world-famous for its many facilities, including hot springs, golf courses, ski resorts, campsites, hotels, and motels. Banff is the capital of the Canadian Rockies, located 1,380 meters above sea level in the Bow River Valley. The Rocky Mountains can be easily entered from Calgary by both rail and highway, but from Vancouver it is difficult to cross valleys and mountains. The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, which include this park, were registered as a World Heritage Site in 1984 (World Natural Heritage Site).
