Men's things - Otokodemono

...A type of Kabuki-Kyogen/Ningyo-Joruri with the theme of the tatehiki (powerfulness) of chivalrous men (otokodate). It is also called "Otokodachi Kyogen" or "Otokodachimono". The first dramatization of chivalrous men was said to be Danshichi, performed by the first Nizaemon at the Kataoka Nizaemonza in Osaka in 1698 (Genroku 11), and since then, rewritten kyogen of Yado-Mu Danshichi has been performed one after another.
