Japanese: 釜淵双級巴 - かまがふちふたつどもえ

(1) Ningyo-joruri. Historical piece. Three acts. Written by Namiki Sosuke. The inscription reads "Shichijo-gawara." First performed at the Toyotakeza Theater in Osaka in July 1737 (Genbun 2). Based on previous works such as Matsumoto Jidayu's original "Ishikawa Goemon" (around the time of the Sadayoshi era) and Chikamatsu Monzaemon's "Kyosei Yoshiokasome" (1712), which both have the great thief Ishikawa Goemon as the main character. Goemon picks up an arrow from a deer hunt in Hirakata, Kawachi Province, and pretends to have been wounded by the arrow, pretends to be a beggar woman and is his mother. He gets fifty ryo and travels to Shimabara. Goemon becomes acquainted with the prostitute Takigawa, and the two become husband and wife and run away together.

(1)人形浄瑠璃。時代物。3段。並木宗輔作。角書に〈七条河原〉とある。1737年(元文2)7月大坂豊竹座初演。大盗石川五右衛門を主人公とした松本治太夫の正本《石川五右衛門》(貞享ころか)や近松門左衛門作《傾城吉岡染》(1712)の先行諸作をふまえる。河内国枚方で鹿狩のそれ矢を拾った五右衛門は，その矢で傷ついたと称して乞食婆を母に仕立て，五十両をかたりとり，島原に遊ぶ。遊女滝川と馴染んだ五右衛門は，夫婦となり駆落する。
