Japanese: オサバフウロ - おさばふうろ

An annual plant of the Oxalidaceae family, about 10-20 cm tall. Many leaves grow in clusters at the end of an upright stem, which close and droop rapidly when touched. The leaves are even-pinnate and composed of many leaflets in 8-14 pairs. Flower stalks 6-10 cm long grow from the sides of the clusters of leaves, and bear several small flowers in an umbel. The flowers are tubular and consist of five yellow, radially symmetrical, free-growing petals. The fruit is an elliptical capsule. A weed found widely in tropical regions around the world, it grows under sparse forests. In the Malay Peninsula, it is used as a folk medicine.

高さ10～20cmほどのカタバミ科の一年草。直立する茎の先に多くの葉が束生し，触れると急速に閉じて下垂する。葉は8～14対の多くの小葉からなる偶数羽状複葉。束生する葉のわきから6～10cmの花茎を伸ばし，数個の小さな花を散形につける。花は筒状で，放射相称に並ぶ黄色い5枚の離生花弁からなる。果実は楕円形の蒴果（さくか）。世界の熱帯に広く分布する雑草で，疎林下に生える。マレー半島では，民間薬として利用される。
