...It is said that he lectured on military tales such as "Taiheiki" in front of Tokugawa Ieyasu and other feudal lords during the Keicho period, and is considered the origin of storytelling. Since Ishino Ujioki of the Akamatsu clan is mentioned in the "Kansei Genealogy" as "Ieyasu's Otogi-shu (fairy lord) of 2,500 koku," it can be assumed that Ujioki was Akamatsu Hoin, but this is unclear. Since lecturers named Akamatsu appeared frequently during the Edo period, it is thought that the descendants of the Akamatsu family became "Taiheiki readers" and praised the great achievements of their ancestors. ...
