Kayuda-sho

Japanese: 粥田荘 - かいたのしょう
Kayuda-sho
This manor occupies one-third of Kurate-gun, Chikuzen Province (present-day Miyata-cho, Kurate-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture). The circumstances surrounding its establishment are unknown. It was donated by Hojo Masako to Kongo Sammai-in Temple at Mount Koya and was protected by the Kamakura shogunate. In 1281 (Kōan 4), it became a military supply source for guarding foreign countries, but was returned five years later. With the implementation of the half-tax in 1392 (Genchū 9/Meitoku 3), samurai invasions intensified, and the Mune clan, vassals of the Shōni clan, and the Sugi clan, vassals of the Ouchi clan, repeatedly fought over control of the territory. The lord of the manor appealed to the shogunate, the main temple Jōshō-ji, and Omuromonzeki in an attempt to regain control, but during the Sengoku period, it became the territory of the Sugi clan and lost its substance as a manor.
