Okada Yutaka

A farmer and agricultural policy leader. Born in Iyo Province. While working as an agricultural association engineer in his hometown, he fought against the Sumitomo zaibatsu over the issue of smoke pollution from the Besshi Copper Mine on Shisaka Island, and from 1921 onwards, he was active in agricultural policy as a secretary of the Imperial Agricultural Association and a member of the House of Representatives. He also started a rice production cost survey using bookkeeping, and planned and supervised surveys on improving agricultural management and basic surveys of rural areas.
