Okadayama Tomb - Okadayama Tomb

Japanese: 岡田山古墳 - おかだやまこふん

This is a group of ancient tombs within the Yakumo Tattsu Fudoki-no-Oka Hill in Okusa-cho, Matsue City, where seven large and small tombs have been identified. Tombs 1 and 2 are relatively large, with Tomb 2 being a circular tomb with a diameter of approximately 43m, but has not yet been excavated. Tomb 1 is a rear-key tomb with a total length of approximately 24m, with its main axis running north-south, the rear section being approximately 14m wide and 4m high, and the front section also being approximately 14m wide and 3.5m high. The mound is built in three tiers, with a rectangular terrace in front of the front section. Cylindrical haniwa clay figures and baby-holding jars have been excavated from the narrow part and the foot of the rear section. At the rear section there is a horizontal-hole-type stone chamber approximately 5.6m long that opens to the west, with split stones piled on both sides.

松江市大草町の八雲立つ風土記の丘内にある古墳群で，大小7基の墳墓が確認されている。1号墳と2号墳が比較的大きく，2号墳は直径約43mの円墳であるが，未発掘。1号墳は主軸を南北方向にとる全長約24mの前方後方墳で，後方部は幅約14m，高さ約4m，前方部も幅約14m，高さは3.5mを測る。墳丘は3段築成で，前方部前面に長方形のテラスをもつ。くびれ部と後方部の墳麓から円筒埴輪と子持壺が出土。後方部には西に開口する全長約5.6mの横穴式石室があり，両袖式で割石を小口積みとする。
