Yoshiatsu Okada

Yoshiatsu Okada
1558-1631 Azuchi-Toyotomi: A samurai from the early Edo period.
Born in the first year of the Eiroku era. He sided with Tokugawa Ieyasu in the Battle of Sekigahara and became the magistrate of Mino (Gifu Prefecture). During the Siege of Osaka, he distinguished himself as the magistrate of military equipment and was promoted to the magistrate of Yamada. In the sixth year of the Kan'ei era, he became the magistrate of the construction of Ise Shrine. He passed away on May 29, in the eighth year of the Kan'ei era. He was 74 years old. He was from Owari (Aichi Prefecture). He was commonly known as Shogen.

永禄(えいろく)元年生まれ。関ケ原の戦いで徳川家康方につき,美濃(みの)(岐阜県)奉行となる。大坂の陣では,陣道具奉行として戦功をたて山田奉行となる。寛永6年伊勢神宮造営奉行。寛永8年5月29日死去。74歳。尾張(おわり)(愛知県)出身。通称は将監。
