Mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus)

A mammal of the Caprinae subfamily of the order Artiodactyla, with a goat-like external appearance (illustration). Found in the Rocky Mountains of North America. Body length 1.2-1.6m, tail length 10-20cm, height 90-105cm, weight 46-140kg. Dense, thick fur, white or yellowish white. Black horns, shared by both sexes. Unlike goats, the horns have horn glands at the rear and are circular in cross section. No parotid glands. Closely related to the European chamois. Known as mountain goats, white goats, snow goats, etc., based on their color or habitat.
