Carnivora, Felidae. Body length 70 cm. Short, soft, and shiny fur. Beautiful orange-brown, sometimes with a grayish tinge. Slightly dark on the back, dark spots on the sides and underside. A very rare wildcat, and nocturnal, its habits are not well known. It feeds on rodents, birds, and rock raccoons. It inhabits the forests of Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya. 食肉目ネコ科。体長 70cm。体の毛は短くて柔らかく,光沢がある。毛色は美しい橙褐色であるが,ときに灰色を帯びることもある。背はわずかに暗色を帯び,体側から下面にかけて暗色の斑点がある。非常に珍しいヤマネコで,また夜行性であるため,詳しい習性は明らかにされていない。齧歯類,鳥類,岩狸類などを食べる。セネガルからコンゴ民主共和国,ケニアの森林などに生息する。
