...The largest territory is the 4,000 km long coastal area and plateau stretching from the Ancasmayu River in Pasto, southern Colombia, to the Maule River in central Chile, and the inland area borders the Amazon rainforest to the east, covering about 3 million km2 including Bolivia and northern Argentina. The word Inca originally meant the son of the god Inti (the sun), the chief of a tribe, and the sole absolute authority. However, the conquering Spanish called the emperor, the nation, and even the tribes that supported the empire by the name Inca.
