Machine translation is a method of translating a language that is commonly used by humans (called a natural language in contrast to artificial languages ​​such as computer programming languages) into another natural language. Translation by such a machine is called machine translation or automatic translation.

It was the American Warren Weaver who first pointed out the possibility of computerized translation (1946).
