Availability theory

Availability theory
The amount of funds that an individual borrower can borrow from a financial institution when needed is called credit availability. Unlike ordinary transactions of goods, in financial transactions, the repayment ability and economic condition of each counterparty (especially the borrower) are crucial (credit check). Therefore, the supply and demand of funds is not easily adjusted by interest rate movements alone, and quantitative adjustments or credit rationing may be used. Therefore, in addition to interest rates, the availability of credit available to individual borrowers can have a significant impact on the borrower's spending (consumption, investment) behavior.
