A conference of the Reformed Church held in Emden (now Germany) in the County of East Frisia in 1571. In East Frisia, the Reformation had been established by Johannes à Lasco (Jan Łaski, 1499-1560) since 1543, with the support of Countess Anna, who was the ruler of the region, and the region had been accepting refugees from the Netherlands and France. At the time, the Netherlands was a Spanish colony, and the Governor-General, the Duke of Alba, severely suppressed the Reformation.

1571年東フリースラント伯爵領にあるエムデン市Emden(現，ドイツ領)で開かれた改革派教会の会議。東フリースラントでは，領主である伯爵夫人アンナの支持を受けて，1543年以来ヨハネス･ア･ラスコJohannes à Lasco(Jan Łaski,1499‐1560)により宗教改革が成立し，ネーデルラントやフランスからの亡命者を受けいれていた。当時ネーデルラントはスペイン領であり，総督アルバ公による宗教改革弾圧は苛烈であった。
