...This area is blessed with fertile soil made of limestone and schist. To the south is the Ardennes, a plateau over 200 meters above sea level that continues from the Eifel hills in Germany, with mountains of over 500 meters rising here and there (the highest is Botrange, southeast of Liège, at 694 meters). Most of the area is covered with beautiful forests, and the rapids of the tributaries of the Meuse River carve out the plateau between them, making it a famous summer resort. If you go down this plateau to the south, you will come across the hills of Lorraine in Belgium. ...
