Masumi Katou
Tayu and head of Joruri Kawato-bushi. First generation. Founder of Kawato-bushi. Real name Ito Tojuro. Son of a fish merchant in Nihonbashi, Edo. Loved music and studied Handayu-bushi. He further studied Shikibu-bushi and Tejinabushi, and established Kawato-bushi in 1716. 1684-1725 (10th year of the Kyoho era )
