Wolf-Rayèt star

A type of O-type star with a blue-white spectrum, with many emission lines due to ionized helium, carbon, nitrogen, etc. Named after its discoverer. All of its emission lines are very broad, which is thought to be due to the rapid expansion and rotation of the hot gas surrounding the star.
