Born on November 6, 1880. At the Tokyo Imperial University athletic meet, he set world records at the time, recording 10.24 seconds in the 100m race in 1902 and 3.90 meters in the pole vault in 1904. Both records were published in the American Athletic Union (AAU) Annual Report. After graduating, he became a diplomat. He passed away in 1963, aged 83. He was born in Tokyo.
