Japanese: 仲立人 - なかだちにん（英語表記）broker

A person whose business is to act as an intermediary in commercial transactions between other people (Commercial Law, 543). In terms of intermediation, they are the same as intermediary agents (→ agents), but they differ in that intermediary agents act as intermediaries for a specific merchant in a continuing relationship, while middlemen act as intermediaries between a wide range of people. The purpose of intermediation is limited to commercial transactions, and those who act as intermediaries for other legal transactions are called civil middlemen. In order to protect the safety of transactions and maintain the credibility of the middleman, middlemen have the obligation to keep samples, prepare and deliver a contract, keep a broker's diary, and claim remuneration, and after delivering the contract, they may claim half from each party unless otherwise specified.
