Our feet stand at the branching point."② A point on the celestial sphere where the ecliptic and the equator intersect. The point where the sun crosses the equator from the southern point to the northern point is called the vernal equinox, and the point where it crosses from the northern sky to the southern sky is called the autumnal equinox. ③ A comma. ※Rangaku Kaitei (1783), part 2 "〔、〕 is called a comma, which translates to an equinox."
