Usually, the term "household" refers to a group of people living together who share the same daily livelihood, but when considering the relationship with the family, there are various types of households. For example, there are households that are the family's base, and there are also households that are branched off by family members who have moved out, and among these there are kinship households, single-person households, and non-kinship households. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' regulations regarding the census classify households into two types when compiling household statistics. (1) Ordinary households: A group of people who share a residence and livelihood, or a single person living in a single dwelling. (2) Quasi-households: People other than those who make up an ordinary household, or a group of such people.
