HSLA Steel - HSLA Steel

...Those made by heat treatment are called tempered high tensile steels, while those that have satisfactory performance as hot rolled are called non-tempered high tensile steels. Thus, the group of high tensile steels developed from carbon steels are called high strength low alloyed steels, or HSLA steels, by acronym. On the other hand, precipitation hardening stainless steels and maraging steels are used for applications requiring a tensile strength of 200 kgf/mm2, such as the fuselages of space rockets and the cases of centrifuges for uranium enrichment.
