Japanese: 意味ネットワーク - いみねっとわーく

A diagram that shows the meanings of sentences and words, associative relationships between concepts, knowledge, etc., in a network format. Each concept is treated as a node, and their semantic relationships are connected by arrows to create a correlation diagram. By expressing knowledge in this form, it becomes easier to process it on a computer. It is simpler and has more flexibility than other methods such as frame theory and object-oriented programming. Examples of its applications include machine translation systems using an interlanguage method, semantic analysis in natural language processing, question-and-answer systems, and inference in artificial intelligence.
