Eruption prediction - Funkayochi

火山噴火の発生の時、所、規模、様式の予知。その的確な予知・予報は防災に役だつが、まだごくむずかしい。広義には、噴火開始後にその後の活動推移を見通したり、噴火停止後に再発の有無などを予知することも含まれ、社会的には、最初の噴火発生の予知・予報より微妙な場合も多い。噴火予知には、各火山の過去の諸噴火の実績・特徴などを究明しておき、かつ、科学的観測で噴火現象やその前兆・随伴現象を的確にとらえることが肝要である。
