Brocken [mountain] - Brocken
The highest peak in the Harz Mountains in central Germany. It is 1,142 meters above sea level. A mountain railway runs to the summit, where a weather station is located. It is known for the meteorological phenomenon called the Brocken Ghost. There is also a legend that witches gather on broomsticks on Walpurgis Night (the night of April 30th).
