South Sea Co. (English)

…the Great Depression in England, triggered by the crash of the South Sea Company's stock prices in 1720. The South Sea Company was founded in 1711 to trade slaves and other goods with Spanish Central and South America, and also to convert the national debt, which had ballooned during the War of Spanish Succession, into low-interest bonds.
