First, speaking of fascism as a movement, it goes without saying that Italian fascism and German Nazism are representative. The Italian fascist movement began in March 1919 as the "Fasci Combatta Italiana," expanded its influence through street control by the Action Brigade organization, and came to power with the "March on Rome" as the finishing touch. When it came to power, it held only 35 seats in the National Assembly, but in terms of its party organization centered on the Action Brigade, it was the largest party in Italy (more on the Italian fascist movement later).
