It is the total amount of wages paid in a country, industry, company, establishment, or region divided by the total number of workers in that unit. It indicates the average wage of workers in a particular category. For example, the wage level of a country can indicate the standard of living in that country. The difference in wage levels between large and small companies can also cause many workers to be attracted to large companies. Or the difference in average wage levels between occupations can lead to labor movement between occupations. Furthermore, if the costs associated with rising wage levels are converted into prices, it can also cause inflation.
