A town in Hōsu County in northern Ishikawa Prefecture. The town developed around the fishing port on the north shore of Nanao Bay, and is connected by the Noto Railway. In addition to rice cultivation in the river valleys and coastal terraces, the town produces a lot of high-quality ara lumber.
