A style of tracery seen in late Gothic France and England from the end of the 14th century to the 16th century. The name was derived from the intense, flame-like impression of the design. The window lattices and stained glass are particularly distinctive, and the cathedral architecture has flat arches, shallow vaults, and complex curves, and is decorated with many decorative sculptures. The stained glass is also extremely detailed and colorful. Representative examples include the Saint-Wulfran Cathedral in Abbeville (15th to 17th centuries) and the Saint-Maclou Cathedral in Rouen (15th to 16th centuries).
