This was a Fudai domain that ruled the area around Fukuchiyama in Tanba Province (Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture). In 1600 (Keicho 5), Arima Toyouji was appointed with 60,000 koku. Later, when the Arima clan moved to Kurume, Okanaga Nagamori (50,000 koku) was appointed from Kameyama in Tanba. In 1624 (Kan'ei 1), Nagamori moved to Ogaki in Mino (Gifu Prefecture), and Inaba Norimichi (45,000 koku) was appointed from Nakajima in Settsu (Osaka Prefecture). However, Norimichi committed suicide due to insanity in 1648 (Keian 1), and was stripped of his title. The following year, Matsudaira (Fukozu) Tadafusa (45,900 koku) was appointed from Kariya in Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture). Later, in 1669 (Kanbun 9), he was transferred to Shimabara, Hizen (Nagasaki Prefecture), and was replaced by Kutsuki Tanemasa (32,000 koku) from Tsuchiura, Hitachi (Ibaraki Prefecture). After that, 13 generations of feudal domains were abolished and prefectures were established. During that time, the 10th lord, Tsunakata, opened the domain school, Junmeikan. Around the Kyoho era (1716-36), the domain's finances fell into distress, and the 5th lord, Totsuna Kutsuki, carried out financial reforms, but this caused opposition from the residents, leading to a strong petition in 1734 (Kyoho 19). During the reign of the 12th lord, Tsunaharu, the people of the domain rebelled against the successive strict frugality orders and material restrictions, leading to a large-scale protest known as the Ichikawa Riot in 1860 (Man'en 1), in which farmers from the four districts stormed into the homes of wealthy merchants and village officials. In 1871 (Meiji 4), the domain was abolished, and after passing through Fukuchiyama Prefecture and Toyooka Prefecture, it was incorporated into Kyoto Prefecture.
