Pic du Midi [Mountain] (English spelling)

Japanese: ピク･デュ･ミディ[山]（英語表記）Pic du Midi

A mountain in the southwestern Pyrenees near the Spanish border in France. The famous Pic du Midi d'Ossau and Pic du Midi de Bigorre are the two most famous peaks in the Pyrenees. The former is located in the Pyrenees-Atlantic department, at the source of the Ossau River, and is a winter tourist destination. The latter is located about 50 km east, in the Bigorre region, Hautes-Pyrenees department, and is 2,887 m above sea level. At the summit, there is an astronomical observatory, a geophysical research institute, and a television station.
