Koryak - Koryak (English spelling)

It belongs to the Chukchi-Kamchatkan language family and has about 6,000 speakers, mainly in the base of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Geographically, it is located between Chukchi and Kamchadal, but in terms of linguistic affinity it is much closer to Chukchi and shares basic characteristics. Like Chukchi, a written script was created in the 1930s, but today its use is very limited.

チュクチ・カムチャツカ語族に属し、カムチャツカ半島の付け根部を中心に約6000人の話し手がいる。地理的にはチュクチ語とカムチャダール語の中間に位置するが、言語の親近性ではチュクチ語にはるかに近く、基本的な特徴を共有。チュクチ語同様、1930年代に文字がつくられたが、今日その使用はきわめて限られている。
