Bundaberg - Bundaberg (English spelling)

A city located in the southeast of Queensland, Australia, 387 km (by road) north-northwest of Brisbane. Population 43,549 (2001). It is located on the right bank of the Burnett River, near the mouth of the river. It is a regional central city with a port, with the surrounding sugar cane-growing areas (settlement in 1875) as its hinterland. The port is a raw sugar export port (approximately 600,000 tons per year) with dedicated loading facilities. There is a sugar refining factory (established in 1882) and an agricultural machinery factory for sugar cane. Municipal organization was established in 1913. The name comes from the name given to an investigator by the indigenous people.

オーストラリア、クイーンズランド州南東部、ブリズベンの北北西387キロメートル（道路距離）にある都市。人口4万3549（2001）。バーネット川河口近くの右岸に位置する。周辺のサトウキビ栽培地帯（1875入植）を後背地とした地方中心都市で、港湾を有する。港は粗糖輸出港（年間約60万トン）で専用積み込み施設をもつ。精糖工場（1882創設）やサトウキビ用農業機械工場がある。1913年市制施行。名称は先住民が調査者に名づけた名に由来する。
