Also called sodalite. A mineral of the sodalite group that contains Na and Cl. Its chemical composition is Na ₈ (Al ₆ Si ₆ O ₂₄ )Cl ₂ . It belongs to the cubic crystal system and is granular or lumpy. It can be colorless, white, pink, blue, gray, or yellow. It emits reddish fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet light. Specific gravity 2.27-2.33, Mohs hardness 5.5-6. It becomes gel-like when treated with acid. It is found in sodium-rich plutonic rocks such as nephelinthene feldspar. The one from the nephelinthene feldspar of Bokjinsan, Pyeonggang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, has a mixture of blue and white parts, and the beautiful ones are used as decoration stones.

方ソーダ石ともいう。ソーダライト族のうちNaとClを含有する鉱物。化学成分はNa₈(Al₆Si₆O₂₄)Cl₂。立方晶系に属し，粒状または塊状である。無色，白色，淡紅，青，灰，黄色など多種類の呈色を示す。紫外線を受け赤色系統の蛍光を発する。比重2.27～2.33，モース硬度5.5～6。酸による処理によりゲル状となる。ネフェリンセン長岩などNaに富む深成岩中に産出する。韓国江原道平康郡福辰山のネフェリンセン長岩から産出するものは青色を呈する部分と白色の部分が混在し美麗なものが装石として利用される。
