Born in 1823. He was skilled in wax casting and was known for his copies of ancient Chinese bronzeware. He made the bronze seal of Emperor Komei and the gold seal of Shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu, and in 1873 he cast the Imperial Seal and State Seal of Emperor Meiji. He passed away on April 14, 1890, at the age of 68. He was born in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture). His original name was Yonekura. His signature work is the "Tripod-shaped Vase."
