Hata Zouroku
1823-1890 A metal caster from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period.
Born in 1823. He was skilled in wax casting and was known for his copies of ancient Chinese bronzeware. He made the bronze seal of Emperor Komei and the gold seal of Shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu, and in 1873 he cast the Imperial Seal and State Seal of Emperor Meiji. He passed away on April 14, 1890, at the age of 68. He was born in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture). His original name was Yonekura. His signature work is the "Tripod-shaped Vase."

文政6年生まれ。蝋型(ろうがた)鋳造を得意とし中国古銅器の模作で知られた。孝明天皇の銅印,将軍徳川慶喜(よしのぶ)の征夷(せいい)大将軍の金印をつくり,明治6年には明治天皇の御璽(ぎょじ),国璽を鋳造した。明治23年4月14日死去。68歳。山城(京都府)出身。初名は米蔵。代表作に「鼎形花瓶」。
