Trud
A leading Russian daily newspaper. Founded in Moscow on February 19, 1921, its title means "Labor." In the former Soviet Union it was the organ of the Central Council of Soviet Trade Unions (VKP, see the GCTU entry), but is now published under the auspices of independent trade unions, and with a circulation of 1.25 million (2.5 million for the Friday edition), it is the second largest in Russia after Komsomolskaya Pravda. The public utility company Gazprom is its major shareholder. It is pro-government and has a moderate editorial policy. It reports on topics such as unionism and living conditions for workers.

ロシアの有力な日刊紙。1921年2月19日モスクワで創刊,題号は〈労働〉を意味する。旧ソ連ではソビエト労働組合中央評議会(VKP,〈GCTU〉項目参照)の機関紙だったが,現在は独立系労組の後援で発行され,125万部(金曜版250万部)は《コムソモーリスカヤ・プラウダ》に次ぎ,ロシア第2位。公益企業ガスプロムが主要株主として出資。政府支持で,穏健な編集方針をとる。労働者向けに組合運動,生活条件などの話題を中心に報道する。
