Japanese: 和泉木綿 - いずみもめん

A regional brand of the Kinki region and Osaka Prefecture.
Cotton fabric woven in Senshu. It is said that cotton began to be cultivated in Senshu during the Muromachi period. During the Edo period, this cotton was hand-spun and hand-woven and became famous as Izumi cotton. Today, it is used for clothing, bedding, materials, etc. In November 2006, it was registered as a regional collective trademark with the Japan Patent Office. The trademark registration number is No. 5004525. The owners of the regional collective trademark are the Senshu Textile Industry Cooperative Association and the Senshu Textile Structure Improvement Industry Association.

泉州で製織された綿織物。室町時代に泉州で棉を栽培したのが始まりという。江戸時代にはこの綿を手紡・手織したものが和泉木綿として有名になった。現在では衣料・寝装・資材などに利用されている。2006(平成18)年11月、特許庁の地域団体商標に登録された。商標登録番号は第5004525号。地域団体商標の権利者は、泉州織物工業協同組合・泉州織物構造改善工業組合。
