Granary - Kokusoin
〘Noun〙 During the Heian period, one of the government storehouses. A place to store tax payments from various provinces in the Kinai region, as well as harvested grains from unowned fields, official fields , and confiscated fields. It was used for student tuition fees and relief for the poor. ※Nihon Koki - Daido 3rd year (808), September 1st month, " The three grain storehouses were stored in one storehouse"
